For those who are looking for a new book to read, here is a list of all the book reviews that I have published on this blog.
I have several steps that I go through when I review these books. Some of these occur at the same time as the others.
1. I read. That's the only way I'm going to know how I feel about a book.
2. I take notes. I will do this either in the margins, in an outside notebook, or merely by circling/highlighting/underlining something that I liked about the book.
3. I write a general summary of the book's contents. This way, people can know what's in the book.
4. I write my analysis of the book. This may include the theme, the writing style, the effectiveness, or a truth that is inside. This is not necessarily a positive analysis. I will sometimes give a book a negative review.
I reserve the right to not review a book that I have requested if I feel that I cannot write a legitimate review on that book. I will attempt to pass the review off to another reader if they can relate to the book.
